Where information stops

The site can show the arithmetic. It cannot know your life.

My Money Matters provides general financial education and estimates, not advice tailored to your circumstances.

General information only

Nothing on My Money Matters is personalised financial advice. The site does not know your complete income, expenses, debt, contracts, dependants, goals, tax position or appetite for risk.

My Money Matters is not a registered financial services provider and does not provide investment, tax, legal or credit advice. A guide can help you understand the question; it cannot make the decision for you.

Calculators provide estimates

A calculator follows the formula, assumptions and period described on its page. Its result depends on the inputs you provide. A typing error, missing amount or assumption that does not fit your situation changes the answer.

Results may be rounded for display. Browser behavior or a software error can also affect an output. No calculator result is guaranteed to be complete, current or error-free.

Tax and payslip figures change

The Income Tax Calculator states the South African tax year it uses and models a relatively simple salary. It is not a SARS assessment or a payroll calculation for every kind of employee.

Allowances, commission, irregular pay, more than one income, a part-year of work, fringe benefits, deductions and individual tax facts can change the result. Tax rates, rebates, credits, UIF limits and legislation can also change. Check important figures against current SARS material or a registered tax practitioner.

Investment growth is an illustration

An assumed return is not a prediction. Real investments can rise, fall or lose money. Fees, tax, inflation, contribution timing, withdrawals, volatility, the order of returns and product rules all affect what actually happens.

The Investment Growth Calculator performs compound-growth arithmetic at the steady rate entered. It does not recommend an investment, provider or level of risk.

Debt and credit need the real agreement

Worked examples cannot replace the interest rate, fees, insurance, repayment rules and consequences in a credit agreement. Credit law and regulatory processes can change. Read the agreement and use current information from the National Credit Regulator or an appropriate professional before acting.

Invoices are your responsibility

The Invoice Generator creates a PDF from the details you enter. It does not confirm that you are VAT-registered, that VAT applies, that the selected rate is correct or that the document meets every tax, accounting or contractual requirement.

Check customer details, dates, banking information, calculations and VAT treatment before sending an invoice. A tax practitioner or accountant may be appropriate for your circumstances.

Sources and dates help, but they are not a guarantee

Time-sensitive pages link to primary sources and show review dates where practical. A source may be amended after a page was checked, and a review can miss something. Verify a number independently when money, a legal obligation or a long-term decision depends on it.

When personal advice makes sense

Consider a suitably qualified financial adviser, registered tax practitioner, attorney, debt counsellor or other professional when the decision depends on facts a general website cannot see.
